Sleeping Baby

Those of you keeping tabs on my dad, he's been doing pretty well. Kathleen, Klaus & Sean have been visiting him often and keeping tabs on him. I hope to go and visit him next weekend, Pat is going snowmobiling with his brother and I'm taking the kids to visit with my dad & my mom (she'll be back in a little less than two weeks). Uncle Sean and his friend Brian are coming over for a visit this weekend. I guess one of there friends is having a surprise birthday party, so I plan on going with them. Hopefully I can stay awake; I've gotten kind of lame in my old age.

Goodnight, I don't think Kendyl every fell asleep on me, I just love to hold a sleeping baby!

Christmas in February!!!!

Well, it was the annual Christmas party with my college buddies and we had a super time. Lori invited us to her house and she made a wonderful meal, Julie brought the cookie (yum....I need the recipe).

We stayed until it was time for the girls to take naps, they were getting tired and poor Lori needed to do some house cleaning....my girls are messy. This is the first year that Christian didn't attend, I gave him the option, but he made plans with his friends.....I guess he's growing up.

The whole group (minus Cindy)

Lori & Lia
Julie & Evie (9 months)
Lia and her new toys

Kendyl (with her new Barbies) & Lia

The Girls playing with their new toys

We've had a nice day so far. We got up and made breakfast, went to church...what an awesome service it was...and then picked Christian us from his friend's house. Pat is going to "baby-sit" today, so I can go shopping with a friend. I can't even remember the last time I got to go shopping with out dragging kids with me. This should be a nice treat.
This coming week at work should be interesting to say the least. It's going to be a long week, but I have a feeling it will be very rewarding. I'm looking forward to what the week brings.

Little Mommy

Thought this was cute. Kendyl decided that she was going to change Lia's diaper, cuz Lia was stinky.
Lia wasn't sure that she liked this so much.......It's almost Friday and I'm very happy about that. I've been at my new job for a month and so far I'm really enjoying it. The people there are great, although I still miss my old crew. I had lunch with my friend Kristi, from my old job, today and it sounds as though everything there is going well.
My dad is still in the rehab center. Sean called me today and I was able to talk to my dad. He seems very positive and I think he's getting better. I am hoping that I will be able to visit him again in the next couple of weeks. I'm very blessed that my brother and my cousin Kathleen (and her husband Klaus) have been taking such good care of my dad and keeping me posted.....thank you, thank you, thank you.....I love you all so much. My mom has been in touch via e-mail, she is still on her cruise....we can't wait to see you mom.
This weekend is Christmas with my friends. I am really looking forward to it..... Hopefully I can remember my cameral and take some pictures.

Just Playing Around!

What a great close to a long week/weekend. Pat and the girls were runing around the house, having a good old time. I couldn't help but take a couple of pictures.
It's was another busy weekend. I'm looking forward to bed (but I still have a couple of things to accomplish before that will happen). Pat and I had a "date night" on Friday. We are not very good at going out without the kids. I believe this is the first time that we have been out alone since Kendyl was born (other than work Christmas parties). It was nice, but over to fast. Next time maybe we will be brave enough to go to a movie as well.

Saturday morning I had an appointment first thing and then about noon we headed to Troy to see my dad. He has been transferred out of the hospital into a rehab facility. I believe he will be there for several weeks/months. Christian came with me and the girls stayed home with Pat. We were able to visit for several hours before we headed back to Grand Rapids....we had to beat the ice storm that was coming. We got home around 10:30, I caught up on e-mail and then watched TV for a while before heading to bed (Pat and the girls were already sacked out by the time we got home). Christian was a wonderful help during our visit. We had some things to take care of for my dad, and Christian jumped in and helped...boy did I raise a good kid.

Today we slept in until about 8:30, before Kendyl woke up. Lia got up shortly there after. We rolled out of bed and I got into the cleaning mood (it's about time, I can't remember the last time I cleaned), maybe it was the 40 degree weather. It's almost like spring. Unfortunately it's been raining all day, so I have a feeling tomorrow mornings commute to work is going to be rough. After cleaning we headed out to get Pat's hair cut, picked up a video game for Christian, went out to eat, did a little grocery shopping, dropped Christian off at his friends (they don't have school tomorrow) and then headed home.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week, I don't have much planned for the week. Next weekend, I am going to have Christmas with some buddies from Ferris. We've been doing this for about 10 years now. My friend Lori has a new house and is hosting the event. We get to meet my friend Julie's new little girl. And it will be everyone's first meeting with Lia. It should be a nice time.

Lesson Learned!

Okay, so the girly girl weekend went pretty well. The kids were full of energy and I was exhausted by Sunday night..... Pat came home (which I was surprised, because he was in the U.P. and I heard the bridge was closed) and I was so excited for a moment of alone time, unfortunately Pat it the road commission and he had to go out and plow, so no alone time for me.... Oh well!!!

Also, I learned a valuable lesson this weekend....giving Kendyl a pudding cup, so I could quickly run some laundry upstairs turned out not to be a great idea.........but it is a cute picture.
This week is becoming a bit of a struggle....my dad is in the hospital, Christian and I had bad dentist appointments today (me...panic attack when the dentist came in to do a filling, which didn't happen..Christian, a couple of cavities for our next appointment). Christian was given a detention at school which I thought was unnecessary and with my stressed out mood I told the vice principle exactly where he could shove his detention....needless to say Christian no longer has a detention.

Is it Friday, Yet?

Wow, have we had a ton of snow. Since I've started my new job, I've been stuck on the express way, moving along at about 25 miles an hour about three times. I've still managed to make it to work on time (all but once). Thankfully, I'm able to drop the girls off a little early (with daycare next-door I am soooo spoiled).
I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. I plan on hanging out with the kids and watching some movies. We may head out to the mall on Saturday. Christian is in need of new shoes.

Kendyl Eating

Lia Cooking

We had a nice weekend. We went to dinner at our neightbors on Saturday. Sunday we went to a superbowl party at our friend Karen & Mike's. Mike has 5 TV's set up in a row in the "man cave", Pat now thinks we need to get new TV's.....thanks Mike.

Well it's Friday, Yeh!

Well, it's been a long and wonderful week. I started my new job on Monday, and I am very lucky to work with very nice people. I really like everyone in my department. My boss was out of the office this week, so we get to catch up on Monday. Pretty much I trained all week.

Christian was lucky enough to have two snow days this week. One on Tuesday and one today. He didn't even know that school was closed this morning. I have put him in charge of watching the news in the morning to see if he has school or not......good thing I found out while I was dropping the girls off at daycare or he would have been waiting at the bus stop for a long time.

Pat is out in the garage playing and just Kendyl and I are downstairs. I'm taking Christian out to a movie tonight....and I'm already so tiered. I hope I don't fall asleep at the theater.

My mom takes off for a month long cruise tomorrow....South American her she comes (did I get it right mom). She's off to the warm weather, and I'm stuck here in the snow...good thing I get sea sick or I'd be really jelous (okay I am a bit jelous, it sounds like she's going to have a blast). I'm going to try and update the blog more often, so that she can keep up with what's going on over here. I won't be able to talk to her for like a month, I'm going to go into withdrawls (we usually talk about once every other day...if not every day ...and several times on the weekends).
