Happy 16th B-Day Christian!

It certainly has been a busy couple of weeks. Pat's been working a ton, and I've been busy with work and school. Christian turned 16 last Thursday, and I'm having a hard time believing that I'm old enough to have a 16 year old, boy am I OLD! The girls have been busy playing and enjoying the outdoors.

Lia and her tractorFriday night Pat and I took the girls for a walk

Even Rumor (the dog) pitched in. The funny thing is Lia only cried when Rumor was pulling her, I just don't think Lia knew what was going on. Once we took the dog leash off and I pushed her the rest of the way home she was fine. I just thought it was to funny and had to share.

Saturday morning Kendyl & Lia snuggled on the couch and watch cartoons

Kendyl made Christian a B-Day card (at day-care)

Saturday Pat took Christian the three friends up north to tube down the Muskegon River, while I took the girls to my work picnic. We all had a busy day, and re-grouped at 8:00 for dinner and cake. The boys were really good last night. I didn't even have to get up to yell at them.

After dinner I took out some birthday hats, as a joke, they were from New Years and a previous "girly" B-Day party. The boys got a kick out of running around in hats and acting goofy. Even Lia got to wear a hat, and she looked so cute that I had to take a picture.

Christian was nice enough to let the girls help blow out the birthday candles (check out the Happy New Years hat).

I can't believe we all slept in until 10:00 today. I can't remember the last time that I slept this late and I'm sure the girls have never slept in this late. I guess we were all tired from a busy Saturday.

Playing nicely

The girls played pretty nicely with each other today. Kendyl is still a bit bossy, but Lia seems to do okay with it. Each day it seems to get a little better and I see them being the best of friends.

Life continues to be pretty hectic our way. Pat and I have both had heavy work loads at our jobs. He's been working until about 8:30 each night this week, meaning that I need to actually leave work on time to pick up the girls. It's been hard because, being an accountant, I'm still trying to get through month end reporting. Ugh! Maybe next month end will be better.

I am starting my MBA classes tomorrow. Every Thursday, for the next 7 weeks, I will be in school for 4 hours. I did manage to get my paper written and am almost done reading all my chapters. I'll review when the girls go to bed.
My brother will be in town this Friday, so we will be going out to dinner with him. Also, Saturday morning we will be heading to Detroit for a shower, to pick Christian up and to do some visiting.

Car Wash Fun!

The girls "helping" daddy
Be careful, Lia, Kendyl has the hose

Oh no, she got you.

Run, run.

This has been a nice long weekend. I can't believe that it's time to go back to work already. Time certainly does fly when your having fun.

The 4th was pretty relaxing we went out to lunch, grilled out for dinner and hung around home for the fireworks.

Saturday morning Pat headed up north, to visit his family, and I hung around to do some visiting with friends and to study (no studying took place). The girls and I went to my friend Karen & Mike's and all the kids played in the slip n slide. There were about 10 kids and it was hectic and busy, but a ton of fun. We ate dinner and hung out by the campfire. It was a really nice time.

This morning the kids and I got up and cleaned the house a bit (I cleaned, they un-cleaned). During nap time I finally got cracking and have completed 2 out of my 3 required chapters. Now one more to go and a paper to write. Man I'm rusty at this school work stuff. I have decided to take a break to update the blog and then we are heading into town for ice cream and grocery shopping. Tonight I'll finish reading and write my paper.....maybe.

Happy 4th of July

It's been another busy week, and I'm looking forward to the long weekend. I took today off to spend some time with the girls (Christian is "working" at my mom's this week). The girls and I went to the mall and played in the play land, grabbed a bite to eat and just had a nice time. The girls got some new shoes and I got a new shirt.....it's pretty hard to try stuff on with the giant double stroller, so we didn't stay to long.

Pat and I decided to celebrate the 4th a bit early. We had some fireworks, so we did some tonight and will do some tomorrow. I put the girls in their strollers (piece of mind for me), and we watched and clapped and laughed. It was a good time had by all.

Even Rumor, the dog, watched the fireworks.

Pat and I plan on watching the Rockford fireworks with the girls tomorrow and just hanging out. Saturday morning Pat is planning on heading up north to see his parents. I'm staying home with the girls, because I'm supposed to be doing a paper for my class (which starts on Thursday). I'm being a big slacker at the moment.....I keep putting off reading my chapters and writing my paper. There's nothing like staying up until 3:00am the day before class and doing homework....only this time around I have a real job that I have to be able to function at. Here's to hoping I get cracking tomorrow.

Happy Gotha Day Lia Mei!!!

I can hardly believe that it's been one year since I first held Lia in my arms. She is such a part of our family, it's hard to believe that I didn't give birth to her myself. I love you little Lia, I thank God everyday for making you my little girl.

My little girl (you look so troubled my little girl, mommy will make it better)
